Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser using the HTML canvas. Your images never leave your device, which also makes processing instant — there is no upload or download wait.
What does the tolerance slider do?
It sets how far a pixel’s color can differ from the one you picked and still be removed. Low tolerance removes only near-exact matches; higher tolerance also catches shadows and compression noise around the edges. Edges are feathered so you don’t get a hard halo.
How is this different from AI background removal?
This tool removes pixels by color, which is fast, precise, and perfect for flat backgrounds like white logos, scans, and diagrams. AI removal segments subjects from complex photo backgrounds — a different job.
Which export format keeps the transparency?
PNG (or WebP). JPEG has no transparency and will flatten removed areas back onto white.
